Pom Poms Vol. 2

Pom Poms Vol. 2 is an artist book and slideshow exhibition of photographs taken between 2018 and 2021 of the Philadelphia DIY music scene. Building on themes from the first volume, I set out to capture a more naturalistic point of view of the scene. Relationships between musicians and concertgoers remain centerfocus as I evolve my approach as a photographer. The sequence for these photographs are inspired by the circular motion of The Greater Romantic Lyric, a type of poetry popularized by English Romantic poets in the 19th century. Lots of friendships are captured throughout the house show scene in West Philadelphia, making this volume all the more personal.
