Editorial
When the New York Times had me photograph a family in Pennsylvania, I was excited to get to know them and contribute to their story, while also furthering my vision. Meeting new people and photographing editorials has often showed me that my camera gets me into some interesting places. I never think of an assignment as just a job. Instead, I like to think of them as a chance to expand on my art as well. Each assignment, with its stakes and deadlines, gives me the window to explore important subjects. I love it when the piece involves portraiture because I’m a lover of people.
