Photographer and artist based in New York. His work discerns parts of the independent music, theatre, and film scenes. Guided by intuition and empathy, he sets out to capture the human condition in a meaningful and cinematic way. He became interested in photography while growing up in Nashville, Tennessee; gaining initial inspiration from local musicians. Drawn towards the personal, Maddox aims to materialize his evolving world view through printed images and text. Overall, his body of work is characterized by immediacy, romanticism, and a keen sense of design.

His work has appeared in select publications including, The New Yorker, Interview Magazine, Pitchfork, TIME, American Chordata, Atmos Magazine, New York Magazine, and The New York Times. His work has been collected by the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art; and has been exhibited domestically and internationally.
